XVX Two-Tier Dish Rack, Extendable Sink-Fitting Upper Level with Drainboard and Rotating Spout

The upper rack can be removed and extended to fit over a sink, giving this two-tier dryer a second arrangement beyond countertop use. Its lower drainage area includes a large drainboard and an extra water pan, separating collected water from the work surface beneath the dishes.

A drainage spout rotates through 360 degrees, allowing the outlet direction to change with the rack's placement. Metal construction supports the two levels, with nonslip pads under the base. Tool-free installation brings the components together without a separate assembly kit. The movable upper level and adjustable drainage direction are the key differences from a fixed single-tier dish rack.

Product Highlights

  • Two-tier metal dish-drying arrangement
  • Removable upper rack extends to fit over a sink
  • Large drainboard plus additional water pan

A bit of a balancing act

It's reasonably balanced, but load it up with too many dishes and it can tip over pretty easily. Strange, I know. I usually just keep a few items in it at a time, and it does its job of keeping the sink itself clear.

Very handy and "attractive" dish drainer.

I'd had a similar rack from the same maker before and was happy with it, but it was a two tier design, and once we moved to a new house it turned out to be too tall, blocking easy access to the garbage disposal switch. So I went looking again and landed on this one. It's honestly a nicer upgrade since it expands when I need extra room and stays fairly compact the rest of the time. It's built solidly out of aluminum, so no rust to worry about. Once a week I run the metal basket through the dishwasher on the lower rack and the plastic pieces up top, same routine as my old one, and it always comes out looking new. The attachable drainers snap in securely or can be moved around as needed. If I could change one thing, I'd want the black plastic parts offered in a light gray instead, since water spots show up really obviously on black and look kind of bad, whereas gray would hide them much better. That's not enough to stop me from recommending this though, I'd buy the exact same one again if I had to.

Sturdy rack that holds plenty of dishes

Update, I've had this about six months now and there's still no sign of rust or any weird mildew buildup even with daily use, it's holding up great. For years before this I used a plastic dish rack from another brand, and while I liked it at first, it stopped working for me after a year since plastic, no matter how sturdy, tends to break down eventually. On top of that, dishes sitting on a solid plastic board don't dry as fast as they would on something more open and vented, similar to a metal oven rack. This full sized metal dish rack ended up being exactly what I needed. I can stack a huge pile of dishes on it and everything drips dry quickly, with the water collecting in a plastic tray underneath that's easy to empty into the sink. To avoid having to tip the tray out myself, I propped one end up on small blocks so gravity does the work and the water flows straight into the sink. It's held up really well, no rust anywhere, and easily manages everything from meal prep to post dinner cleanup for the whole family. Dishes dry fast and the whole setup just looks better than the all plastic one it replaced. Overall this is a sturdy, good looking rack for the counter. It costs more than some of the other options out there, but the durability and appearance make it worth the price.

Not quite as stable as advertised

Overall I like this drying rack, though the drain pan underneath slides around pretty freely. The instructions mention a plastic clip meant to sit outside the rack legs and keep the pan in place, but no such clip came with mine, not on the pan, the legs, or anywhere in the box. There's a small plastic ridge on the pan's underside that might be meant as the clip, but it's not wide enough to actually stop the sliding. Not sure if that's a design flaw or just missing hardware, but I can live with it. It's easy to assemble and take apart again for cleaning. Adding the wine glass holder pushed it too tall to fit under my cabinets, though since I don't use one anyway that's not a big deal for me. Given the drain pan issue, I do think it's a bit pricey for what you get.

Looks great in a stainless sink

The size is spot on, plenty of room for both dishes and silverware. It feels very sturdy and is supposedly rust resistant stainless steel, though I've only had it a week so time will tell on that front. I much prefer the gray basket over the white option.
